<span style="font-size: large;">I have been sewing a lot lately. Haven't kept very good records though. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I made myself a bag from an Amy Butler pattern. It is a perfect size for a weekend trip. Every time I see it I want to go on a weekend getaway. I used fabric from premier prints and lots of interfacing and pellon inside the bag. It has a nice big zipper and it sturdy and just cool. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUw92cTZm3BMA2KxQJhroc3RwcHEePOJSBac4WZxLWGnP8bTQdZjRJZHHSHaHLphbA_SrDj2oKoic_2B1AroF8_C5cBsypweDWdBhWAWE3eCEeriOE5uAaH33ypIfb8Wp5nPmDPAMntuk/s1600/new+bag.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> My 17 year old needed a prom dress that covered her shoulders and didn't break the bank. We tried some on at stores and got the style figured out and then made our own. This combined 2 or 3 patterns and I think the put skirts (lining, fabric, overlay of chiffon) on probably 8 times. She kept changing her mind. Gathered, not gathered, pleats, no pleats, etc. I learned a lot from making this dress. She loved it in the end.</span></div>

I finally got around to hanging curtains. My budget for decorating is almost always zero, or near zero so I had to get creative. I browsed on pinterest and different blogs looking for ideas and I kept coming back to the horizontal stripe curtains. They are spendy to just buy them so I knew I would make them. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">My color scheme for my family room is basically this picture below: </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1UvmKvrmMPMK8egwzLaUaQVVZt5tcPUSj-ezgivpTr0aC6PRTvyx26NPL4gQbsNiIq20Vs_vMaaMfcNCZK4aCpYBkD7jilwrP-zS-0kerY0hWKcws8U51yq62mJwQPuEQ-6OEKyY3L8o/s1600/PepperedTones.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1UvmKvrmMPMK8egwzLaUaQVVZt5tcPUSj-ezgivpTr0aC6PRTvyx26NPL4gQbsNiIq20Vs_vMaaMfcNCZK4aCpYBkD7jilwrP-zS-0kerY0hWKcws8U51yq62mJwQPuEQ-6OEKyY3L8o/s1600/PepperedTones.png" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">Kind of by default really. We had dark brown carpet, I had painted the walls the light blue/grey color because they were dirty/bright yellow when we moved in, we already had a reddish chair, and our couches are the darker tan color. The entry wall hall is the green-ish color. So I was glad I found the colors all put together in a scheme like this so I felt like I actually had a scheme going. I chose the lighter tan and dark brown to make my curtains and I am planning on adding more red accents as time goes on.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The curtains finished:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8bf1dnhUzpwFVOmFtXaxmSJE4r21kB6gkS3ryB-eU-xSHB0yFczCnkaiWTw77nxj16U1p6iTH3JsV0S7y5W2TzmfxI3iAm3tArKurlFO1guoboagrgRMJQDHDbhG-P90VBAP2roKIS4o/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8bf1dnhUzpwFVOmFtXaxmSJE4r21kB6gkS3ryB-eU-xSHB0yFczCnkaiWTw77nxj16U1p6iTH3JsV0S7y5W2TzmfxI3iAm3tArKurlFO1guoboagrgRMJQDHDbhG-P90VBAP2roKIS4o/s1600/photo.JPG" height="239" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> I made the blanket ladder you see leaning against that wall. I want some pretty matching quilts to hang there someday.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2wCz_7ocFS1kapC9WrHBpuXlWGz1B3PvxiJ7Qz1HMTCbYQpgcVpcJQHHg856WeQdA_feJCl_Dfq2vRkE9bz_qWLrfaa-rO063x4-L8k26u1iLdTHZzNLqcz865HDvyb8tLINA_PR6QD8/s1600/photo+%25282%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2wCz_7ocFS1kapC9WrHBpuXlWGz1B3PvxiJ7Qz1HMTCbYQpgcVpcJQHHg856WeQdA_feJCl_Dfq2vRkE9bz_qWLrfaa-rO063x4-L8k26u1iLdTHZzNLqcz865HDvyb8tLINA_PR6QD8/s1600/photo+%25282%2529.JPG" height="320" width="239" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I bought two flat bed sheets, twin sized from Wal-Mart for about $5 each. I cut them each in half length wise, the cut them into 12 1/2" strips width wise. I sewed four strips of brown to four strips of white, using the bottom edge of the sheet that is already "hemmed" as the bottom strip. I found a "Family Dollar" store that was closing and found two matching curtains rods for $4.00 each (not the sturdiest feeling rods but they will do the trick) and I already had the clip on curtains rings! I was left with almost enough of the sheets to make two more panels for the other window in the family room, but I will have to buy two more sheets to completely finish them. So for about $3 a panel, and $4 a rod, I spent next to nothing on these curtains!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">More plans: copy the barn doors on hinges to cover the tv hole above our fireplace.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXjbwyxHPmwD6sAfwGMLvSy0CPef-WagrXgiyJfK_bpH-PinZmnwtp3KWrzxCP8LPsxzN9YdWhN1cht_NDalFGWBcT8R3W_0Cj8MRgJFmpqVW6WWLEfFg192eqQxYFCuB2ro1UACcAMkk/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXjbwyxHPmwD6sAfwGMLvSy0CPef-WagrXgiyJfK_bpH-PinZmnwtp3KWrzxCP8LPsxzN9YdWhN1cht_NDalFGWBcT8R3W_0Cj8MRgJFmpqVW6WWLEfFg192eqQxYFCuB2ro1UACcAMkk/s1600/7.jpg" height="189" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">And... have my dad visit and build us bookshelves like these on the sides of our fire place.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx_C9MdfwIwcg4D_TWv5YaW8g3hG_i5p8D-WF2l2ySXa2c7bufcTio2udkMD3IaSnh5N_6HqP0HD63n08Bp5EMMDX6VxnaGHlXMroJ3hJy4al9-N_kS29NYUAK11C-1yChgL9P3rj27_0/s1600/732759_0_8-9594-contemporary-family-room.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx_C9MdfwIwcg4D_TWv5YaW8g3hG_i5p8D-WF2l2ySXa2c7bufcTio2udkMD3IaSnh5N_6HqP0HD63n08Bp5EMMDX6VxnaGHlXMroJ3hJy4al9-N_kS29NYUAK11C-1yChgL9P3rj27_0/s1600/732759_0_8-9594-contemporary-family-room.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">Oh, and think of something to put over the couch. And get another couch. Those are my plans.</span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3406455436999887111.post-13327374163958780632013-11-04T14:06:00.003-08:002013-11-04T14:06:34.716-08:00Super Hero Bedroom<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">So our new house needed some personalization and my little boys are only going to be little once.... so we decided on a super hero bedroom. My husband says I'll just have to change it in a few years. Maybe he is catching on to my scheme to decorate more! I'd say I'm about 1/2 way done with this room and it's starting to look so cute!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The boys room is a big room, maybe 14 X 14 so there is a lot of room to play (and make messes). I like having a big space so we opted to keep the bunk beds as bunk beds. There is a little table and two chairs I got at a school surplus auction for $5. Score. We have one dresser that is ugly right now, maybe it'll get some paint too, and an equally ugly toy/book shelf hidden away by the closet. There is one big wall that was calling for something special! A mural! Now I am not a painter AT ALL but I could put up painters tape and make a basic design. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCd85kNoIvejPhWpht4Dvm3E8Rp-ccb-PziFMP5um94pvIx9DGOVcgRAQSmcnfJBfB8TJDG4ITMBJgFlP0tjWI54bDWQkaLOK7okv5dxiIvLPX5NhtLUOX1QCMm7vPClVTSUEt5jPELEk/s1600/photo(79).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCd85kNoIvejPhWpht4Dvm3E8Rp-ccb-PziFMP5um94pvIx9DGOVcgRAQSmcnfJBfB8TJDG4ITMBJgFlP0tjWI54bDWQkaLOK7okv5dxiIvLPX5NhtLUOX1QCMm7vPClVTSUEt5jPELEk/s320/photo(79).JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I used inspiration from pinterest and etsy. Just type in city skyline or super hero room decal and you get some ideas of shapes to replicate. I kinda made it my own. Each of the spotlights have one of my sons initial in it like someone is calling for their super hero help! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The bunk bed "bat cave" looks kinda sloppy so I'm thinking it could use some more velcro at the top. I took tab top curtains that were left at our house when we moved in and added a "CTR" symbol. It stands for "Choose the Right" in our <a href="http://www.lds.org/">church</a> and I wanted to bring a bit of the real world into the super hero world. I want my boys to choose the right and not worship people like batman and spiderman and superman. They can also be "Choose the Right Men"! Anyway, I wanted to use the tabs on the top and slip them around the top rail of the bunk bed like in this <a href="http://thisthriftyhouse.blogspot.ca/2011/01/bunk-bed-tent.html">picture</a>, but it was too wide and there was no way to make it work unless I took apart the entire curtain, or just made new ones. So I just sewed some velcro onto a few of the tabs, and put the other side of the velcro on the bed itself with sticky back velcro. The two panels also velcro together in the middle so super hero's can break out of their cave if they want.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3-vCwu8jidSlP-8yRX6um9MvFCPq187ZgsK-sKwv9Sgl94jAC5K4Y3W1_ttgLqL8LMvNijflKNmHoBNjK0j3nMcy6LO6WnriokK13_QDwenZl4tdCzvOrGd4TX-a1b4gSIAxebNXNdwE/s1600/photo%252877%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3-vCwu8jidSlP-8yRX6um9MvFCPq187ZgsK-sKwv9Sgl94jAC5K4Y3W1_ttgLqL8LMvNijflKNmHoBNjK0j3nMcy6LO6WnriokK13_QDwenZl4tdCzvOrGd4TX-a1b4gSIAxebNXNdwE/s320/photo%252877%2529.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Since we just moved I had a ton of boxes naturally so I saved one of the large wardrobe boxes and turned it into a telephone booth! It is not as sturdy as I would like it to be, but it was free and easy and cute. I cut some holes in it, added some letters cut out on my cricut, I spray painted it red, and went to town with some white duct tape. I added some command sticky back hooks inside to hang up their super hero capes. They love hiding in there and we also have home depot aprons, fireman hats, and star wars light sabors hidden in there. It is a telephone booth for all heros and professions! I found a cool picture of one <a href="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/15/50/c6/1550c69a931c9eddb3e35f1ecd46cc31.jpg">here</a>. It is much more sturdy than the one I made and really tall too!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlevj_dlTDO8Rz_Cyh1lWtyYDb_6a_YiNk_FA1920rg98zeI54rNwPxNlCNuBxenaSJ0u9KaT81wCaTh02KO7oqRxpDOo4aIHhiYf4JLbbXBwLtfbAN6xWZj1WVA_sAE8caHg78zbySYo/s1600/photo%252876%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlevj_dlTDO8Rz_Cyh1lWtyYDb_6a_YiNk_FA1920rg98zeI54rNwPxNlCNuBxenaSJ0u9KaT81wCaTh02KO7oqRxpDOo4aIHhiYf4JLbbXBwLtfbAN6xWZj1WVA_sAE8caHg78zbySYo/s320/photo%252876%2529.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The valances are my favorite thing yet! I had scrap fabric in these colors so that is why I chose these colors! I wanted them to look sorta like capes. I used templates found <a href="http://sugartotdesigns.blogspot.com/2011/10/superhero-bins-tutorial-and-printable.html">here</a>. My 3 year old son said they were AWESOME! I found some inspiration from <a href="http://busy-dad-e.blogspot.com/2012/04/superhero-bedroom.html">here</a> that I love but did not want to take the time to make them look exactly like their picture. I do like their's better though!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrmRjWNvDSbPTUEkGT9zKNcrr3tKFGn1vILF9mkx889qmnQIPa3Wn79kzm1p8aLmIspZUVu8kRWAYb-E2an3Zdr_o91wR6yB8y_y3dMN2Fxd9v58WyN0g23nsOs_heaDWAFn-hJQ9BU-0/s1600/photo%252878%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrmRjWNvDSbPTUEkGT9zKNcrr3tKFGn1vILF9mkx889qmnQIPa3Wn79kzm1p8aLmIspZUVu8kRWAYb-E2an3Zdr_o91wR6yB8y_y3dMN2Fxd9v58WyN0g23nsOs_heaDWAFn-hJQ9BU-0/s320/photo%252878%2529.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I have plans to make quilts for the beds with inspiration found <a href="http://in-the-corner.com/2013/01/29/superhero-quilt-i-love-this/">here</a>. I want to make a few signs for the walls, add some shelves to store super hero action figures and home depot workshop creations, and all the other "stuff" little boys accumulate. Maybe some bins for their toy shelves, and some cool pillows. For now I'd say I'm 1/2 way done! </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I have a friend who is a great crochet-er. I have never learned so when she asked if we could put our talents together and make some cute dresses, I jumped on it! She crocheted the tops and let me figure out the skirts. So far we have four cute ones.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Our Disney trip is fast approaching (okay so there are still over 100 days to <a href="http://www.caraleecrafts.blogspot.com/2012/05/disney-preparation.html">countdown</a>) but I know it's going to fly. So I got started on some projects I've been thinking about to make our trip easier. I have read the "Unofficial Guide To Disneyland" and made lists, highlighted, made more lists.... of things we need to prepare for. One of them is carrying our own water. Sure we can buy water in the park (too expensive), or look for water fountains (too time consuming), so I wanted to bring our own water. I have a husband who doesn't want to end up carrying the entire families water bottles or hauling a backpack full of water bottles, so I came up with individual water bottle carriers that even the littlest theme park go-ers can carry.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp9L5ndXQ7C59PDbefcY_-KxCGIFZMikrfyOdwiUM85p7Q7jJPBgq-dpcvO7aRlMUVW1tkKplh-jshEj1nk7NU0rSpPIA9HgneYq3IV028XtP7vpp0yB0aSmFh5j6HTZwuBv6SXlgVw6s/s320/IMG_0399.JPG" width="240" /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> I wanted a hands free way to carry them and I didn't want to fuss with getting them in and out of a bag or a stroller. I bought everyone the same size water bottle that has a thick plastic straw coming out of the top (don't have to unscrew lids every time you want a drink), and measured around the bottle, made a bottom, cinched the top with elastic, made a strap (36" for little kids, 45" for middle kids, 52" for teenager kids), sewed it all together and we have handy water bottle carriers! I think it'll work!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCFazjOGttDKM6toiG5DtSh_-Ggu2GDUJENq6tEdzCIxel7E18MRnkJ8ccRCFeN9YWWkfI11czd5GH_jNUtIOEG5wUsAVWFrs92stptam-9vrpRqHiNK9ox_EapM5Fh-MF56BNBDhavuM/s1600/IMG_0401.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCFazjOGttDKM6toiG5DtSh_-Ggu2GDUJENq6tEdzCIxel7E18MRnkJ8ccRCFeN9YWWkfI11czd5GH_jNUtIOEG5wUsAVWFrs92stptam-9vrpRqHiNK9ox_EapM5Fh-MF56BNBDhavuM/s320/IMG_0401.JPG" width="240" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> I made the straps out of different fabric for everyone so they can distinguish which one is theirs easily.</span></div>

So I decided to make everyone a neck pillow so they can still nap easily if needed. I made the little boys slightly different sizes but the same fabric as their water bottle carriers. The back of the neck pillows are minky fabric so they can use that side if they want a more cuddly feel. I used <a href="http://darningdiva.blogspot.com/2010/12/toddler-travel-pillow-tutorial.html">this</a> tutorial as a starting point but tweeked it a little for us. I made the youngest one (age 2) a circumfrence of 10", the next child (age 6) circumference of 14", and all others 16". </span></div>

We thought it would be two years ago, but then we had another baby as a surprise instead! So now our kids are 2, 5, 9, 12, 12, and 14 and we think it's a good time to take them! We booked a condo several months ago and paid for it in full so we'd be committed. Then my husband lost his job....but then he found a new one so the trip is still on! Since it's summer I thought we'd make a countdown chart with fun things to do leading up to the big trip. There are 187 days until we leave, so we cut it down a bit to 137 which we will start on July 16th (lots of math involved here). Then I set my cricut machine to work (and my kids). We cut out bunches of Mickey heads and saying from several characters along with "tickets" to Disneyland. I will pick a few days and put activities on the back for fun during the summer and for preparation right before the trip.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"> Here is the list of activities I've come up with so far. Some of them are pretty specific to our needs and what I think will get us excited. Several of them involve me being organized with supplies and then helping make the stuff. Please give me more ideas!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- watch a Disney movie we haven't seen for a long time</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- Look at maps of Disneyland</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- make car games</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- make Disney princess dresses for American Girl dolls</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- make water bottle holders</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- write a letter to Disney character (they send an autographed picture back)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- dance to Disney music</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- play Disney DVD Bingo</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- play Disney character memory game</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- make Disney shirt to wear on first day of trip</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- make Mickey Mouse pancakes </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- make Disney autograph books/journals</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- play Disney trivia game </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- use Mickey Mouse ice cubes trays to make a treat</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">- watch Disney vacation planning guide DVD</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I also happen to be making an Alice in Wonderland skirt/apron/costume for a friend whose little girl is turning one and having a "ONEderland" birthday party. I think they turned out cute! I am also making 5 Women's costumes for Cinderella, Step mother, step sisters, and Fairy Godmother right now for a family who goes to DisneyWorld on Halloween each year. I'll have to post pictures when I'm done with them. Fun times! Hopefully I won't get sick of Disney anytime soon!</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">I have been busy sewing and sewing and more sewing. Good thing I like sewing! I've had lots of orders on my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/OnceUponaChildhood?ref=si_shop">etsy</a> shop recently for baby crib sets, puffy quilts, and curtains. I love to see the different combinations people come up with for fabrics and love to help them find the exact right combination!</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> Brown and blue is very popular for crib sets right now. This is similar to another set I made with elephants in it. We simply replaced the elephant fabric with some baby blue minky.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"> This crib bumper is the first bumper I've made for an oval crib. It was fun to figure it out! I have yet to make a sheet for an oval mattress. That sounds more tricky.</span></div>

Now he's almost 2 and I finally am finishing! My problem is that I figure if I'm going to make one I might as well make 2 or 3 at the same time. Which actually adds that much more time. Time to cut, glue, arrange, etc. etc. But I finally finished 3 of these cute little ABC books and made covers for them. Good thing my little boy has 2 cousins who are almost the exact same age and they are getting them as late birthday presents.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg60F4CBfleluyPiSE1m8J48i6r2K8JRaflo7Aa7SA3dR-iMgjOGsavi4jZhUIvmCsOTIzJpRJ__4B1_VHbJP1bbpmDYA8gJRYr_zEEKfTKtDJEpApx2MMXOIceAdrmf10ZB2Zyh5tZQFA/s1600/IMG_9265.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg60F4CBfleluyPiSE1m8J48i6r2K8JRaflo7Aa7SA3dR-iMgjOGsavi4jZhUIvmCsOTIzJpRJ__4B1_VHbJP1bbpmDYA8gJRYr_zEEKfTKtDJEpApx2MMXOIceAdrmf10ZB2Zyh5tZQFA/s400/IMG_9265.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5706112993692056482" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiqA3zRogcxw3sjRu67kUXhHEIMI8HJsBExwQZ6zZST7yy99GQtr3vnQfUw21QgS2zj-i1-Mc3yp3vanLfBjYNdBSnZNiYC0zYKA_POg8mdhRAu_QUz1NChhdC-lVycsZJOURR77n0310/s1600/IMG_9267.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiqA3zRogcxw3sjRu67kUXhHEIMI8HJsBExwQZ6zZST7yy99GQtr3vnQfUw21QgS2zj-i1-Mc3yp3vanLfBjYNdBSnZNiYC0zYKA_POg8mdhRAu_QUz1NChhdC-lVycsZJOURR77n0310/s400/IMG_9267.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5706113008608556130" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJS5fso8FgvcnU_eW0rnuzAaNZ50IOqCcGIAfBvgwiY7xuW_xQE4fG-9baEOTnbj82mDO9qBt0y5lmEZB0d7ZlghKCn9CuGgypl64es7PN7o-ZaTzKCaJM_1vGtHGONKi8XzHrRTVeDn8/s1600/IMG_9266.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJS5fso8FgvcnU_eW0rnuzAaNZ50IOqCcGIAfBvgwiY7xuW_xQE4fG-9baEOTnbj82mDO9qBt0y5lmEZB0d7ZlghKCn9CuGgypl64es7PN7o-ZaTzKCaJM_1vGtHGONKi8XzHrRTVeDn8/s400/IMG_9266.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5706113001483845394" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpK1Pm1pShUw52uj0ZobTTJJ8Xev5XdhMvpt7Rr2WdGSwP9UnffXInO25CeDAbe0egJVVpPaK5SxrmW6hiKa2RNvqEDM4ZPdW6Tgdp-fmfUXxFr7uKguciohjsMMTgpmQZruzcdecQi8o/s1600/IMG_9268.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpK1Pm1pShUw52uj0ZobTTJJ8Xev5XdhMvpt7Rr2WdGSwP9UnffXInO25CeDAbe0egJVVpPaK5SxrmW6hiKa2RNvqEDM4ZPdW6Tgdp-fmfUXxFr7uKguciohjsMMTgpmQZruzcdecQi8o/s400/IMG_9268.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5706114086501565906" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWoOKCgS9JXk4dbPUr-N3ZFdmiVaVwK3KAQ4qlIzUDmJYh-yGMI-sB6zMGZfj-rXAzNKJ-k-98jqECK-r2NveMq0_Mj0B8OG3U5kvsJcQSZUfSR6hB2Le91PpKT-J2PF41HLqRjRgSx0U/s1600/IMG_9271.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWoOKCgS9JXk4dbPUr-N3ZFdmiVaVwK3KAQ4qlIzUDmJYh-yGMI-sB6zMGZfj-rXAzNKJ-k-98jqECK-r2NveMq0_Mj0B8OG3U5kvsJcQSZUfSR6hB2Le91PpKT-J2PF41HLqRjRgSx0U/s400/IMG_9271.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5706117485630238002" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1_aQlsOqH6IRFIMpUkM_wbXocm2yY8p2_LRYFFcaJMS4xbWmHrJNGT-psoFnhKUfDRhKYHRhQNH8AIvlSe5LA9my0_P-MAEn_iBFoSsmkiTpOZHcL_F_XMvzvKR5Y6IHKhjOJjaExOpM/s1600/IMG_9272.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1_aQlsOqH6IRFIMpUkM_wbXocm2yY8p2_LRYFFcaJMS4xbWmHrJNGT-psoFnhKUfDRhKYHRhQNH8AIvlSe5LA9my0_P-MAEn_iBFoSsmkiTpOZHcL_F_XMvzvKR5Y6IHKhjOJjaExOpM/s400/IMG_9272.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5706117487510606642" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br />I used smaller 3 ring binders because they are cuter for little hands to use. Turns out that just because they are smaller, doesn't mean they are cheaper. They are actually more expensive than regular size 3 ring binders, but I still go them because they are cute. I just browsed through the cricut cartridges I had and found pictures that worked for each letter. I like how they are not the typical pictures you find for ABC books- dog house rather than dog, fire hydrant rather than frog. Something a little different. I put the pages in smaller plastic covers (also more expensive than regular sized). I found some scrap fabric and made some covers for the books. I wanted to make handles so they could be carried around but I was going super simple and super fast so they don't have handles.<br /><br />This was a great way to get me familiar with my cricut and learn how to do things faster and more streamlined. On to bigger and better projects with the cricut now!<br /><br />Now we'll see if my little guy, and the cousins, likes it!<br /></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3406455436999887111.post-58278153617438059022012-02-06T11:37:00.000-08:002012-02-06T11:47:50.927-08:00Toddler boy bedding<span style="font-size:130%;">So I have a little toddler who loves to snuggle with the puffy quilts I am always making for others, so I actually bought fabric special for him and made him some new bedding for his toddler bed! After I was all done, I showed him and asked if he wanted to snuggle with it. An emphatic, "NO!" was the answer. So he could care less. But I think it's pretty cute and wish I was a toddler again so I could have such cool bedding.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiigGdoO59IKGgf1VHnHQJ-6I3dJizY_p-qzysqseZnHxTv1dW1MJNn_Wpej1Ad56gi1YXlh314xnuwHspu95EyU6EF_vDv5GacstEY1r2KtC8TZFCSCeGkGKlkIbhHT3N32hmPksRi5c/s1600/IMG_9246.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiigGdoO59IKGgf1VHnHQJ-6I3dJizY_p-qzysqseZnHxTv1dW1MJNn_Wpej1Ad56gi1YXlh314xnuwHspu95EyU6EF_vDv5GacstEY1r2KtC8TZFCSCeGkGKlkIbhHT3N32hmPksRi5c/s400/IMG_9246.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5706110415211457634" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUdtTJnn_EUxGsII7PfXkPCOupPIVsxhBqqa72Hq0Ik8mZI60fYNuXjYgteQ3xFoFeBe08HpftSSYT2dun4i4vUYPPtWFRrUEcK1LGXIerien98xJDU0Dn85VWzgShy6ysjjjBqqmXEco/s1600/IMG_9244.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUdtTJnn_EUxGsII7PfXkPCOupPIVsxhBqqa72Hq0Ik8mZI60fYNuXjYgteQ3xFoFeBe08HpftSSYT2dun4i4vUYPPtWFRrUEcK1LGXIerien98xJDU0Dn85VWzgShy6ysjjjBqqmXEco/s400/IMG_9244.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5706110409291376706" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5jTs-ZfyCmWU0FouUWV57bfSpvpmf1AAje830rhjhnHwKW07VQVPT3bNHZdyuuLW3lS_Cy7fZpvb2alER03LQv-ohsAzQqVSAezz80bKnV_D-EMTkKU8E1ysRqJbAZx-j-EOrbJGEk6c/s1600/IMG_9248.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5jTs-ZfyCmWU0FouUWV57bfSpvpmf1AAje830rhjhnHwKW07VQVPT3bNHZdyuuLW3lS_Cy7fZpvb2alER03LQv-ohsAzQqVSAezz80bKnV_D-EMTkKU8E1ysRqJbAZx-j-EOrbJGEk6c/s400/IMG_9248.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5706110424398514898" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;">I made a fitted sheet and a pieced pillow case. Two hours later I had some curtains for my family room. I bought the fabric several months ago and it's been sitting in my closet just waiting. I love this light yellow fabric with green ticking stripes. It's so subtle and not too flashy. It adds to the cottage feel of my house. I still have a long way to go with decor and if we'd stop moving maybe I could get actually get one house decorated fully! I put a large green section at the bottoms to anchor the curtains since they are very tall. Next, I need more fabric to make valances (notice the ugly rods still showing) and some more matching pillows. I want to do something coordinating in the dining room and kitchen that are right next door but not be all "matchy-matchy" about it. I love that I got to see the completed room after the mom added my stuff to her already amazing design. What a fun, modern, colorful, yet sophisticated baby's room! I contributed the puffy quilt, crib skirt, 3 crib sheets, diaper stacker, changing pad cover, pillow, and crib bumper. It's fun to work with people to find just the right combination of fabrics and colors that they envision for their project and then see it come to life!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlFmF00qAn_QP9fAG-NjosGkncyzptbkC8ZjU70tmJiBjIf0mVhVoHh8s5yBg2FD1Yin6TikZ2bHBafsmr-8SlWwMMfWLJwZrpFlxPkzOpgTy8oSNzaLMSUIv-xbksHFuX4w0GbCUmaBc/s1600/orange+room+8.jpg"><img style="display:block; Initially a lot of parents didn't want them because that is one more thing to monitor for your kids, to lose, to break, to accessorize, to argue about. (if you have pre-teens and teenagers you know what I'm talking about!) Anyway, I have 3 kids in that age group so we have 3 Ipad that are leased to us from the school and we have to monitor, try to not break or lose, accessorize and argue about. They are not supposed to download their own apps (school rule) so we don't have to worry about that. It's mostly the touch screen fascination that we have to monitor and the mindless time wasting that goes on. But, my kids are good and we haven't had too many problems.<br /><br />Which brings me to the point of this post- to post pictures of all the ipad carrying cases I have been making! Teachers need them, students need them so why not whip up 10 or 20 to sell and to give as gifts? They are easy to make and fun to play with different trims and ribbons to make them all cute. I've mostly made girl ones because the little handles make them look kinda like a purse. I did make one boy one out of camo material without the handles for my son and he says he likes it. I didn't put any cardboard or hard siding inside which is why I call them carrying cases rather than cases, because they should still be in a hard case first and then slipped inside this padded carrying case. They have made great gifts for my kids teachers and friends for Christmas! They have a coordinating lining fabric inside and close with a long piece of velcro that is sewed into the lining. I think I forgot to take pictures of 5 or 6 others I made.<br /><br />So contact me if you want some made and I'll find some cute fabric for you! <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV5X5lIRV8CmUSRLSg2Ru-VGktFSkUXUMRTwKqXIe2KVAO2x9jWzN3gMxQM5dkvRTWEUK-u5pZxYtWt-lB6fqdGDfXeQzZc_Uq2gJnzSvDMM6aGXw6XQz8qRN3t02Z7ToWB8LKhoXwKTg/s1600/IMG_9059.JPG"><img style="display:block; I follow a pattern or an example great but originality is hard for me. Also throwing away awkward shaped leftover fabric is hard for me too because I know something could be done with that leftover fabric. Having made tons and tons of puffy quilts, I wanted to make something we could take along and that more people could have. I know taggie blankets are popular with kids and they like to play with different textures. So I came up with a mini puffy/taggie/texture toy that is about a foot square.<br /><br /></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNDtRlWe3BpLCdDmfD4za4sOq9TmX5E7SpXCDsj_7KevP06k5ETJAZAzhWqy8biwQWE6RCkTI6vulLh0YXe8DDYQVX_2rOhqxmk-l7TcJGocRdtBvUBnlXAdCoXhIu5usIH83n7hByAFw/s1600/IMG_8919.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNDtRlWe3BpLCdDmfD4za4sOq9TmX5E7SpXCDsj_7KevP06k5ETJAZAzhWqy8biwQWE6RCkTI6vulLh0YXe8DDYQVX_2rOhqxmk-l7TcJGocRdtBvUBnlXAdCoXhIu5usIH83n7hByAFw/s400/IMG_8919.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5680419037777414258" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;">It has 25 mini puffs, sewn together just like a large puffy quilt. Then ribbon tags are added and a minky back makes it even more fun to play with! Every time my little 1 year old son sees one of these around the house he immediately brings it to his cheek and rubs it on his cheek. Several moms at my first craft fair this weekend thought they were cool too and bought them! So I'm trying them out on my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/OnceUponaChildhood?ref=si_shop&show_panel=true">etsy site</a> as well.<br /><br />I'm so excited to have finally come up with something on my own! Now I just need a better name... which leads me my first giveaway! If I can get 25 name suggestions from different people, I'll pick the best one and send you one of my puffy/taggie/texture toys. Leave your comment!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQX5piYgYcsifVwx8WNxpugg2U7731_ZtytbDZb_DCnuabLdQP6aYbz5hoeauyfUq6rUXubRoNDIPUvL94JwgNs3VB_FMMNFJl6iFDPDGb2lh6GeMt5GTS09oD132WTMzkymCBe2hzqgg/s1600/IMG_8917.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQX5piYgYcsifVwx8WNxpugg2U7731_ZtytbDZb_DCnuabLdQP6aYbz5hoeauyfUq6rUXubRoNDIPUvL94JwgNs3VB_FMMNFJl6iFDPDGb2lh6GeMt5GTS09oD132WTMzkymCBe2hzqgg/s400/IMG_8917.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5680419049266380866" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZQ6zYvT2cu88LYnWoNC3EMA4DTjEMgsNUb5F2MNWshRCAkCWjkEwCMcPE9Tm7vgk5or-2D6vEPJ3AySb-1OBcdDCFQC9rX1qYycXhvcrCB26Pq-5E5oxxMk-ytQqdXJ0NwJkWYvjR3js/s1600/IMG_8918.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZQ6zYvT2cu88LYnWoNC3EMA4DTjEMgsNUb5F2MNWshRCAkCWjkEwCMcPE9Tm7vgk5or-2D6vEPJ3AySb-1OBcdDCFQC9rX1qYycXhvcrCB26Pq-5E5oxxMk-ytQqdXJ0NwJkWYvjR3js/s400/IMG_8918.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5680419041627500578" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br />linked to: http://linda-coastalcharm.blogspot.com/<br />www.sewstylishboutique.blogspot.com<br />www.strictly-homemade.blogspot.com<br /></span><img src="file:///C:/Users/gsanders/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot-25.png" alt="" /><img src="file:///C:/Users/gsanders/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot-26.png" alt="" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3406455436999887111.post-78420783430298381502011-11-11T15:12:00.001-08:002011-11-11T15:35:10.377-08:00Privilege<span style="font-size:130%;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXS_3SenSgol0wAeckNwcJO9lUrcPkOuh6t2lXjoeRweJFbv-NlBp6_vGmT7J9WbQwrSg6uNSh5Qr5CuwCBSEdgdyTZ9-Y3_mIdWvEvzdC-_AzES_u05dZl_d-CHSEcUQQWh0OzDS6rf8/s1600/IMG_8827.JPG"></a>Sometimes we are lucky enough to use our talents to bless and help other people. I was honored to help a good friend and her family with my sewing talents last week. They had a preemie baby who lived a short 10 days then passed away. She was only 1 pound 1 ounce and born at 27 weeks. One thing my friend did not want to do was shop for a dress for the baby for the funeral. A doll dress would be too big anyway, a Barbie dress would probably be closer to the size, but not wide enough. So I offered to make one. It was a pleasure and a privilege to help them during this trying time.<br /><br />I took a few doll dress patterns that I have a figured out how it would best fit on a such a little baby with the least amount of disturbance. I decided to not do sleeves and to make it a wrap dress that would fit around her how ever small she was. I put an adjustable velcro closure on the side so when you wrapped it, it could be wrapped tighter if needed. I made it long and with two skirts, two different colors of lace, and several ribbon bows. I think a girl needs a pretty dress no matter how small or for how short of an amount of time! It did not take long to make and I loved how it turned out. I do wish I had made it probably 1/2 the size after I saw the little baby at the funeral because I think it was way too big.<br /><br />There aren't many options for parents with micro-preemies. After searching online there are several things you can buy for more than 50$ and they will ship the next day. I think it's a great option for a friend to make something because it'll mean more and be one less thing that a grieving parent has to worry about! Thank you friends for giving me the opportunity to give you a gift in your time of need.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXS_3SenSgol0wAeckNwcJO9lUrcPkOuh6t2lXjoeRweJFbv-NlBp6_vGmT7J9WbQwrSg6uNSh5Qr5CuwCBSEdgdyTZ9-Y3_mIdWvEvzdC-_AzES_u05dZl_d-CHSEcUQQWh0OzDS6rf8/s1600/IMG_8827.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXS_3SenSgol0wAeckNwcJO9lUrcPkOuh6t2lXjoeRweJFbv-NlBp6_vGmT7J9WbQwrSg6uNSh5Qr5CuwCBSEdgdyTZ9-Y3_mIdWvEvzdC-_AzES_u05dZl_d-CHSEcUQQWh0OzDS6rf8/s400/IMG_8827.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673885148232073698" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid44F4FSR3rg5aqoKRW_z_tkQM5vOUri3OLdN6kYGXIw3wXchy9dpOo7kQBcgH9Zg8QiHJYcq-bwJ51qIr1yII6xR7s7xUr-x_hhbNIVdHLIjDXAFEnvZDR5PHZezdHOolXwrScY1o-q0/s1600/IMG_8824.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid44F4FSR3rg5aqoKRW_z_tkQM5vOUri3OLdN6kYGXIw3wXchy9dpOo7kQBcgH9Zg8QiHJYcq-bwJ51qIr1yII6xR7s7xUr-x_hhbNIVdHLIjDXAFEnvZDR5PHZezdHOolXwrScY1o-q0/s400/IMG_8824.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673885142485829826" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhze1a2Pfhg17TMdXgBGhlouC0LLTyP0JHqY2YSyOq_G_XQ_xqPB_FZAXK_uaoN95q3EPOa8cJppCKP9gZRSD5wE_oEkBWjtjXUdUm4Gcelv_V-M53L-VekituXCKXFTCONFL5JHHLCdwM/s1600/IMG_8823.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhze1a2Pfhg17TMdXgBGhlouC0LLTyP0JHqY2YSyOq_G_XQ_xqPB_FZAXK_uaoN95q3EPOa8cJppCKP9gZRSD5wE_oEkBWjtjXUdUm4Gcelv_V-M53L-VekituXCKXFTCONFL5JHHLCdwM/s400/IMG_8823.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673885135295950674" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQkbNAFeYThfugir-fWUTA5C3XPK0WPrh9oxqnyPHHPvcO0lf1QiSUjfUB3SXeQS7bap9VuNh81p5VCjVQOfywFhhV0skyXykxcGQ2j3qXcXOuYvK8OpeL-RNrCZ_E9hYjwOmtwhoeWA0/s1600/IMG_8828%255B1%255D"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQkbNAFeYThfugir-fWUTA5C3XPK0WPrh9oxqnyPHHPvcO0lf1QiSUjfUB3SXeQS7bap9VuNh81p5VCjVQOfywFhhV0skyXykxcGQ2j3qXcXOuYvK8OpeL-RNrCZ_E9hYjwOmtwhoeWA0/s400/IMG_8828%255B1%255D" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673882794266249090" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /><br /></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3406455436999887111.post-69550027843918070162011-11-11T11:59:00.000-08:002011-11-11T15:38:23.493-08:00Craft fair craziness...<span style="font-size:130%;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaV-m9zzgxbfvbTUYUx85xi5rQFHwmJEV0a6hjU26D-i-xGaddfAvER4wz4WFBijTNTEWKsD5h_qpzsXBArx9TUO-gQWDHD1NX8nBPNOnvJ8XNGSvyKkB53MgR2WkL-iNZqS0pcvduXhU/s1600/IMG_8883.JPG"></a>So this is the first time I'm going to do a craft fair and all I can say is, "What was I thinking???" Actually I'm really excited but super stressed about getting everything done in time. Also if we'll have enough to fill up our table. These are some super cute apron and baker's hat sets that I've been working on. My girls all want one and if there are any left over, they'll get one for Christmas! I love these fun, bright fabrics. On my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/OnceUponaChildhood?ref=si_shop">etsy</a> shop as well.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaV-m9zzgxbfvbTUYUx85xi5rQFHwmJEV0a6hjU26D-i-xGaddfAvER4wz4WFBijTNTEWKsD5h_qpzsXBArx9TUO-gQWDHD1NX8nBPNOnvJ8XNGSvyKkB53MgR2WkL-iNZqS0pcvduXhU/s1600/IMG_8883.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaV-m9zzgxbfvbTUYUx85xi5rQFHwmJEV0a6hjU26D-i-xGaddfAvER4wz4WFBijTNTEWKsD5h_qpzsXBArx9TUO-gQWDHD1NX8nBPNOnvJ8XNGSvyKkB53MgR2WkL-iNZqS0pcvduXhU/s400/IMG_8883.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673830556504743522" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTvTmNkNiAWHJu3tVTNa6j5XRE9BUiNL7NfuaeCW89e7F2ch9mWDCjBO34yok5oaeV-u9QxmA6Nhv046FUg0XXY9ikiO0cZIuJkBVNdyxeh8fUH_f5HyYnRvwTyOMAsKVsXW6cj75POEk/s1600/IMG_8880.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTvTmNkNiAWHJu3tVTNa6j5XRE9BUiNL7NfuaeCW89e7F2ch9mWDCjBO34yok5oaeV-u9QxmA6Nhv046FUg0XXY9ikiO0cZIuJkBVNdyxeh8fUH_f5HyYnRvwTyOMAsKVsXW6cj75POEk/s400/IMG_8880.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673830551510297474" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /><br /></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3406455436999887111.post-21531485423511703562011-10-25T13:11:00.001-07:002011-10-25T13:16:57.652-07:00Fries with that?<span style="font-size:130%;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlkijftAKKjJQncDYdwctFiZeNYweECHhqB2EbtKWKguk5FqA_ekn0C_O_r-5QF1k5HKWXQkf-Vuab7seL2H8oEf5UY8MFg6Z2ZvPq0PPuSGtmT_hSYgfztTXbPsvXXnRAW_pLpTxgOT8/s1600/IMG_8803.JPG"></a>So every year I swear I'm not doing anymore Halloween costumes, but I always do. Mostly for my little kids because I figure the big kids can come up with something on their own. This year I saw a picture somewhere of condiment costumes and thought it was so cute. So I got a yard of red and yellow felt, stitched it up in the back, put a casing around the neck and added elastic, cut out some felt letters and glued them on. The hats were plastic from a round ice cream bucket covered with felt and a small pot I found in the garage. Wa-la! Ketchup and mustard bottles. Easy and cute. My boys are cute too.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlkijftAKKjJQncDYdwctFiZeNYweECHhqB2EbtKWKguk5FqA_ekn0C_O_r-5QF1k5HKWXQkf-Vuab7seL2H8oEf5UY8MFg6Z2ZvPq0PPuSGtmT_hSYgfztTXbPsvXXnRAW_pLpTxgOT8/s1600/IMG_8803.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlkijftAKKjJQncDYdwctFiZeNYweECHhqB2EbtKWKguk5FqA_ekn0C_O_r-5QF1k5HKWXQkf-Vuab7seL2H8oEf5UY8MFg6Z2ZvPq0PPuSGtmT_hSYgfztTXbPsvXXnRAW_pLpTxgOT8/s400/IMG_8803.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667525726128335074" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjnahEu8if7v6XzO5wQzDxdoS_enZGQb-lRvsoNw0prERkBcfpBbXgLfLiXnNMhAi_AcVu_ihPYtmMEHV6kyjFz3Zg24f79pBU384KfYKIbbrcN8jx3Lj7uxy4vVqpIpwKyZYqb1SuxuU/s1600/IMG_8806.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjnahEu8if7v6XzO5wQzDxdoS_enZGQb-lRvsoNw0prERkBcfpBbXgLfLiXnNMhAi_AcVu_ihPYtmMEHV6kyjFz3Zg24f79pBU384KfYKIbbrcN8jx3Lj7uxy4vVqpIpwKyZYqb1SuxuU/s400/IMG_8806.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667525719946688674" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEnAtlM-d4cR4qYMaFZmlGf38M877S581Kbbm5AgkkjL3TlhmauuWg15emcE6JIcWnzrbg_0qttQHeLAdrMXpxhvNofsjNrDKWcC9MjPpt8tvFbCDB-JBHFPsFDNWLsy926shjnDO02D8/s1600/IMG_8805.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEnAtlM-d4cR4qYMaFZmlGf38M877S581Kbbm5AgkkjL3TlhmauuWg15emcE6JIcWnzrbg_0qttQHeLAdrMXpxhvNofsjNrDKWcC9MjPpt8tvFbCDB-JBHFPsFDNWLsy926shjnDO02D8/s400/IMG_8805.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667525277848927058" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /><br /><br /><br /></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3406455436999887111.post-46216062540459448222011-09-25T14:50:00.001-07:002011-09-25T15:51:08.023-07:00Fall Wreath<span style="font-size:130%;">So I wanted a fall wreath, not Halloween. I scored a good deal on a huge pack of paper that included fall, Halloween, and Christmas papers. I got a straw wreath with a 40% off coupon and got started. I cut 10 pieces of paper into strips, they were anywhere from 1/4" up to 1/2" wide. I curled them around my fingers about 4 times, stuck a straight pin in them and pushed it into the wreath. Then I repeated that about 200 times. I picked a cute "Jack-Be-Little" pumpkin from the garden and hung it on my wall. (I planted these pumpkins specifically because I want to decorate with them every year but I refuse to buy them from the store.)<br /><br />I think I'll make a few more for some other holidays!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMNOq0_rIn2pn1ZfzUN0YKUMn85Fn4VkNFZWK8IwH3RrW0t3aQeIjuW1A8-fASLC9CbB-E3hJ7G3TaoF9bvlFW8dIh45rv5SjzBjkaMPRNPjGxOibOV0Jj2cLdfAqBeJUdJ0gUWy15V_k/s1600/IMG_8634.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMNOq0_rIn2pn1ZfzUN0YKUMn85Fn4VkNFZWK8IwH3RrW0t3aQeIjuW1A8-fASLC9CbB-E3hJ7G3TaoF9bvlFW8dIh45rv5SjzBjkaMPRNPjGxOibOV0Jj2cLdfAqBeJUdJ0gUWy15V_k/s400/IMG_8634.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5656432662094588402" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjph5inUhj9QZysRJGPhX6hDHii9ardGGwH1p-D6Z0PUkiWagin_w3tiDNCs9enY50aF32wr0Z7xA71kXp3k22J7iLjub9Gof7OgolE8WOxLBxRIHDQs6Anaxv3iAmDFlTrajGStWgwX9s/s1600/IMG_8635.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjph5inUhj9QZysRJGPhX6hDHii9ardGGwH1p-D6Z0PUkiWagin_w3tiDNCs9enY50aF32wr0Z7xA71kXp3k22J7iLjub9Gof7OgolE8WOxLBxRIHDQs6Anaxv3iAmDFlTrajGStWgwX9s/s400/IMG_8635.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5656432664683134706" border="0" /></a></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3406455436999887111.post-10243277898696861782011-09-23T07:39:00.000-07:002011-09-23T12:09:11.560-07:00Hugest puffy quilt so far<span style="font-size:130%;">So "hugest" probably isn't a word, but this blanket I made was sure HUGE! A client ordered a full size puffy quilt for her little girls new big girl bed. It was pretty much like making 4 crib size quilts and then attaching them together. I have to say that it looks amazing and so comfy! I also know why I don't want to make many more of them that big. They are so heavy and hard to finish off because the end product pulls so much on my machine. But, I propped it up on some chairs and the table next to me and pushed through the heavy part. It's beautiful and I hope the lucky little girl in North Carolina likes it as much as I did!<br /><br />Here's a picture of my little guy breaking it in for me. He loves to lay down on them but I shoo him away quick so no grubbies get on the new quilt!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWr4G9pv-vm_M4aKJK1J0TqKdebKr642aTg8-COK_mtpDDmZEsfcZmAZOoDXA_3tAc5byxFvnF1McS6GZqYNrhIcV0vfAVComCfGAXp95VboSAlDbc-N5VgATnBNo3PXWu1sfPWxKjwfs/s1600/IMG_8606.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWr4G9pv-vm_M4aKJK1J0TqKdebKr642aTg8-COK_mtpDDmZEsfcZmAZOoDXA_3tAc5byxFvnF1McS6GZqYNrhIcV0vfAVComCfGAXp95VboSAlDbc-N5VgATnBNo3PXWu1sfPWxKjwfs/s400/IMG_8606.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5655565385850176642" border="0" /></a></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br />They also ordered a valance and curtain panels to match. I used all scraps from making her baby set to make her a matching puffy quilt. I loved working with these fabrics again and I love when there are different textures mixed into the same quilt. There is a medium weight fabric, a minky fabric, and a cotton. I love the piping around the edge and I think I'll start making more of my quilts with a piping edge. This could be used as a play mat, a throw quilt on the end of a bed, a quilt to snuggle on cold Wyoming nights (for our 7-8 month winters!), or even a throw rug on the ground in front of a crib. I can't believe I got it ready for her baby shower which is in 5 days. Now to finish the valances and her baby's room is done, well not the painting but that's not my department!<br /><br /></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik_oTvo7fMhvSxff25YTZu1ODkRGvnnl1g-RHKUtWxMJi6dy7Sm_ZcZZPRdooUZP90tKjRQ-b3SfBu0ee4c8F6iMTDstcPxZ629G2SqWuJFAmzY5MDKpbpY_8SkPgLyM-BcE5ayhwNcL0/s1600/IMG_8531.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik_oTvo7fMhvSxff25YTZu1ODkRGvnnl1g-RHKUtWxMJi6dy7Sm_ZcZZPRdooUZP90tKjRQ-b3SfBu0ee4c8F6iMTDstcPxZ629G2SqWuJFAmzY5MDKpbpY_8SkPgLyM-BcE5ayhwNcL0/s400/IMG_8531.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5650092353370726002" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQmSN_tn5l3JxiJW8AJBkP5oiXW8Ycq_a79otV9hvHSFE1nZXRoGRKkN3uUFOA93arWwTdYjhgIAkkqIz0EjfVsA5uYq2Ne0r6xvxkNV3QaO3p5jwsVl5tFfeOIliVH_ORSSsAGrXngrc/s1600/IMG_8530.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQmSN_tn5l3JxiJW8AJBkP5oiXW8Ycq_a79otV9hvHSFE1nZXRoGRKkN3uUFOA93arWwTdYjhgIAkkqIz0EjfVsA5uYq2Ne0r6xvxkNV3QaO3p5jwsVl5tFfeOIliVH_ORSSsAGrXngrc/s400/IMG_8530.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5650092348199340066" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmz1KYxBN-7QVc3_I4pE0TcUm3fn1nTyZSqW4r0TIGMsNN1ejWr5hLANU3YxIFBNJyJ18BwPNw8U2Bju0TP0eQM4rvFU6dzHH5BxxbFd9lkPn1M6NbTZW-6jobQ9tSUZkBa5x21U5YOu8/s1600/IMG_8529.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmz1KYxBN-7QVc3_I4pE0TcUm3fn1nTyZSqW4r0TIGMsNN1ejWr5hLANU3YxIFBNJyJ18BwPNw8U2Bju0TP0eQM4rvFU6dzHH5BxxbFd9lkPn1M6NbTZW-6jobQ9tSUZkBa5x21U5YOu8/s400/IMG_8529.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5650092344000801234" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiET8furvvONsBKPvGWz55oNQC_z0MRHOWLGXBlFMbS_kD5drH6rEh1C8nRttcLh_QAhV1mHgS-tSCuEy0oxdxhMCt9HzoOIrZDM-X84UOhWMKS2eF2iMMAAti_wTpqhA-Wpkz83cRhc8Q/s1600/IMG_8533.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiET8furvvONsBKPvGWz55oNQC_z0MRHOWLGXBlFMbS_kD5drH6rEh1C8nRttcLh_QAhV1mHgS-tSCuEy0oxdxhMCt9HzoOIrZDM-X84UOhWMKS2eF2iMMAAti_wTpqhA-Wpkz83cRhc8Q/s400/IMG_8533.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5650093168986809298" border="0" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlQXi9YI_adAmCsJrgnWtjJy3nDU_McC4mZFFWnuSGs9nUQf7a4oouDACr3J5hI64aeMf302o9hOWaeP-JfbCm-hTHbhlCHO34Ibf4ryB0XkVx7t4ZTNu2eeDoxQ4BnkdxjNms2VQc4XA/s1600/IMG_8532.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlQXi9YI_adAmCsJrgnWtjJy3nDU_McC4mZFFWnuSGs9nUQf7a4oouDACr3J5hI64aeMf302o9hOWaeP-JfbCm-hTHbhlCHO34Ibf4ryB0XkVx7t4ZTNu2eeDoxQ4BnkdxjNms2VQc4XA/s400/IMG_8532.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5650093165336191570" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Matches this:<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL6r2Z6ldHfEyM08nY81WTXe0JtBa65O8eyQujW6FG1yXmujZB-fFaaDgfnUBvOs-t0Lle_hkyYDSkZBSUOM25Rfb63V8g2AZDv6ri1YVRu6p7-natA7WQUkLVM1pbTbR3wHOIg0sebLg/s1600/Shelley+2.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL6r2Z6ldHfEyM08nY81WTXe0JtBa65O8eyQujW6FG1yXmujZB-fFaaDgfnUBvOs-t0Lle_hkyYDSkZBSUOM25Rfb63V8g2AZDv6ri1YVRu6p7-natA7WQUkLVM1pbTbR3wHOIg0sebLg/s400/Shelley+2.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5650093684222925074" border="0" /></a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3406455436999887111.post-17496053350534546442011-08-31T14:22:00.000-07:002011-08-31T14:29:17.103-07:00Urban Zoologie Owl- another favorite fabric!<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);font-size:130%;" >I've had the chance to work with more fun fabric recently! I'm making a baby bedding set for a gal in New York City! All the way from little ole' Wyoming. It's turned out so fun and comfy and she did a great job picking fabrics! I've learned a few things along the way too, like 2 thick layers of batting plus two layers of minky fabric do NOT fit in my sewing machine. And, you need to use extra pins on super stretchy fabric. Everything went fairly smoothly though and I'm hoping the orders will keep rolling in because it's so much fun staying home and getting to work with fabrics that are so cute.

It gets more fun the more I work on it thanks to the fun fabrics! Can you believe I don't have a crib to set the stuff up in and take pictures? After 6 kids, we got rid of the crib and have a mattress waiting for the toddler bed. So my kitchen table had to act as the crib.
<br />
<br />I have a removable boppy cover:

Depending on the left over fabric we may come up with a valance or curtains. And I may throw in a surprise... shhhhh.

I know this "chevron" fabric is trendy right now and I know a million people have made pillows from it. I've been dying to get my hands on some and my SIL gave me the perfect chance. I'm making her baby's room stuff and this is the pillow for her rocking chair. I love it!

<br /><span style="font-size:130%;">I'm thinking that a big stack of these pillows in all different colors would be great for a craft fair right before Christmas. What do you think? Would you buy one for an easy present that anyone would love? How much would you pay? What color do you want?
<br />
<br />Also, her diaper stacker. Excuse the nasty dresser that it is hanging from. And I need to spend some more time with the iron but then it'll look great! Can't wait to meet my new little nephew and also to get the rest of the baby bedding done.
